PUBG Mobile 2026 best weapons tier list featuring top-ranked guns and loadouts

How This Tier List Works

This weapon tier list ranks every gun in PUBG Mobile based on effectiveness in standard Battle Royale matches. Rankings consider damage per second, recoil controllability, versatility across engagement ranges, attachment dependency, and ammunition availability. Weapons are categorised by type, and each category has its own internal ranking since you would not typically choose between an assault rifle and a shotgun for the same role.

Tier definitions:

  • S Tier: Best in class. Pick these up every time you find them.
  • A Tier: Excellent options. Reliable in most situations.
  • B Tier: Solid but situational. Outperformed by higher-tier options in their category.
  • C Tier: Functional early game, but replace them when possible.

Assault Rifles

S Tier

  • M416: The M416 has been the most reliable assault rifle in PUBG Mobile since launch, and nothing has changed. Its recoil is manageable even without a compensator, the fire rate is fast, and it accepts every attachment in the game. Fully kitted, the M416 is a laser at medium range and competitive up close. If you find one, keep it for the rest of the match.
  • AUG A3: A crate weapon that outperforms the M416 in raw stability. The AUG has virtually no horizontal recoil, making it the most accurate automatic weapon at medium-to-long range. Its crate-only status is the only reason it does not see more use.

A Tier

  • SCAR-L: Slightly less DPS than the M416 but easier to control for players who struggle with recoil. The SCAR-L is the forgiving alternative that still performs well in all situations. An excellent choice if you prioritise consistency over peak damage.
  • AKM: The highest damage-per-shot among common assault rifles, making it devastating in close quarters and with single-fire taps at range. The tradeoff is significant recoil in full-auto. Skilled players who can control the kick will get more out of the AKM than the M416 in certain fights. Pair it with a compensator.
  • Beryl M762: A high fire rate and strong damage make the Beryl a favourite among aggressive players. The recoil is brutal without a compensator and vertical grip, but once controlled, it shreds at close and medium range. Not recommended for beginners, but lethal in experienced hands.

B Tier

  • M16A4: Burst-fire only, which limits its close-range effectiveness. However, the M16A4 is one of the best long-range ARs when tap-fired, with tight bullet grouping and high velocity. A niche pick that excels as a budget DMR.
  • G36C: The Vikendi-exclusive AR performs similarly to the M416 with slightly less versatility. A good pickup on the maps where it spawns, but not worth building around.

Submachine Guns

S Tier

  • UZI (Micro UZI): The highest fire rate of any ground weapon in PUBG Mobile. The UZI melts enemies in close quarters before they can react. It has no scope mount, limiting it to hip-fire and iron sights, but inside buildings and in early game fights it is unmatched.
  • Vector: Nearly as fast as the UZI but with the ability to mount optics and an extended magazine. The Vector's damage drop-off at range is severe, but within 30 metres it competes with assault rifles for time-to-kill.

A Tier

  • UMP45: The most versatile SMG thanks to its manageable recoil, decent range, and compatibility with AR attachments. The UMP45 works from close range out to medium range, making it a reliable secondary weapon throughout the match.
  • MP5K: Available on specific maps, the MP5K offers a good balance of fire rate and stability. It fills the same role as the UMP45 with slightly faster fire rate but less range.

B Tier

  • Tommy Gun: A large magazine and decent damage are offset by slow ADS speed and poor accuracy at range. The Tommy Gun is a fun weapon for spraying down squads in close quarters but is outclassed by the UZI and Vector for pure kill speed.

Sniper Rifles

S Tier

  • AWM: The only weapon in PUBG Mobile that can one-shot a player wearing a level 3 helmet. The AWM is the undisputed king of sniper rifles, but its crate-only availability and limited Magnum ammunition mean you need to make every shot count.
  • Kar98k: The most common bolt-action sniper, and still excellent. A headshot against a level 2 helmet is a guaranteed knock, and the Kar98k uses 7.62mm ammo which is plentiful. The go-to sniper for most players in most matches.

A Tier

  • M24: Slightly higher damage and faster bullet velocity than the Kar98k. The M24 was previously crate-only but is now a world spawn, making it a direct upgrade when found. The difference between M24 and Kar98k is small enough that either works.

B Tier

  • Mosin-Nagant: Functionally identical to the Kar98k with the same damage and bullet velocity. It exists as a map-specific variant and offers no meaningful advantage. Use it if you find it, but do not swap out a Kar98k for it.
  • Win94: A lever-action rifle with no scope mount. The Win94 is fast to cycle and hits hard, but the inability to add optics makes it a close-to-mid range weapon rather than a true sniper. More of a novelty than a competitive pick.

Designated Marksman Rifles (DMR)

S Tier

  • Mini 14: Low recoil, fast fire rate, and high bullet velocity make the Mini 14 the best DMR for consistent long-range damage. It does not hit as hard per shot as the SKS, but its spam potential and accuracy at range are unmatched.
  • SLR: The hardest-hitting DMR in the game. Two body shots will knock most players, and a headshot against a level 2 helmet is devastating. The recoil is punishing, but players who can handle it are rewarded with the fastest potential time-to-kill at range.

A Tier

  • SKS: A balanced DMR with moderate damage and recoil. The SKS accepts a cheek pad which improves recoil recovery, and it uses common 7.62mm ammo. A reliable choice when you cannot find a Mini 14 or SLR.
  • QBU: The Sanhok-exclusive DMR with a built-in bipod that reduces recoil when prone. Functionally similar to the Mini 14 with slightly different handling characteristics.

Shotguns and LMGs

Shotguns

  • S Tier: S12K. A semi-automatic shotgun that can fire rapidly at close range. The S12K's magazine and fire rate make it forgiving if you miss your first shot, unlike pump-action alternatives.
  • A Tier: S1897 (Pump). Higher per-shot damage than the S12K but punishing if you miss. One-shots are possible at point-blank range, making it a high-risk, high-reward early game weapon.
  • B Tier: S686 (Double Barrel). Two shots before a long reload. If both connect, the enemy is down. If either misses, you are in trouble. Drop it as soon as you find any other weapon.

LMGs

  • S Tier: DP-28. The DP-28 is essentially an assault rifle with a 47-round magazine and excellent prone stability. Its fire rate is slower than true ARs, but the magazine size lets you suppress entire squads without reloading. Pair it with a 6x scope and go prone for a budget sniper setup that also works in close quarters.
  • A Tier: M249. A crate LMG with a 100-round belt. The M249 suppresses everything in sight and is devastating in squad fights. Its crate rarity and slow reload keep it in A Tier rather than S.

Best Attachment Priorities

  • Compensator: Reduces recoil, the most impactful barrel attachment for full-auto weapons.
  • Extended Quickdraw Magazine: More ammo and faster reloads. Always take this over a standard extended or quickdraw magazine.
  • Vertical Foregrip: Best for reducing vertical recoil on ARs and SMGs. Use the Angled Foregrip only if horizontal recoil is your primary issue.
  • 6x Scope: The most versatile optic in the game. It can be adjusted down to 3x, giving you a single scope that covers medium-to-long range.
  • Tactical Stock: Reduces weapon sway and recoil recovery time. A small but meaningful upgrade for the M416, Vector, and Kar98k.

Recommended Loadouts

  • All-rounder: M416 (4x or 6x) + UZI or Vector (red dot): Covers all ranges with reliability.
  • Sniper Setup: Kar98k or M24 (8x) + M416 or Beryl (3x or 6x): Long-range picks with a versatile close-mid option.
  • Aggressive: Beryl M762 (3x) + S12K or Vector: Maximum close-to-mid range kill potential.
  • DMR Focus: Mini 14 or SLR (6x) + UMP45 (red dot): Sustained ranged pressure with a forgiving close-range backup.
